All artwork, imagery, designs, sketches, paintings, prints, and digital files created by Alexa Craig Art are protected under UK Copyright Law (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988).

Copyright is automatically held by the artist upon creation and remains with Alexa Craig Art at all times.

Purchasing any artwork does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights unless explicitly agreed in writing.

Ownership vs Rights

When you purchase an artwork, you are purchasing the physical item or personal-use digital file only.

You own:

• The physical artwork (original or print) once received
• The right to display it privately or publicly as a personal item

You do not own:

• Copyright
• Reproduction rights
• Commercial usage rights
• Licensing rights

Strict Usage Restrictions

Unless written permission is granted by Alexa Craig Art, you may NOT:

• Reproduce, copy, or trace the artwork in any form
• Use artwork for commercial purposes (including merchandise, branding, advertising, or resale products)
• Use artwork in logos, tattoos-for-sale, business identity, or promotional material
• Digitally alter, edit, or manipulate the artwork
• Mint, upload, or sell as NFTs or digital assets
• Distribute, resell, or share digital files
• Upload high-resolution versions to stock sites or commercial platforms

Personal Use Rights

You MAY:

• Display physical artwork in your home, workplace, or personal space
• Gift or resell original physical artwork (resale of originals only, not prints or digital files)
• Share low-resolution images online for personal, non-commercial use (see Sharing section)

Digital Downloads

All digital artworks are licensed strictly for personal use only.

You may:

• Download and store the file
• Print for personal display only (non-commercial printing)

You may NOT:

• Share, forward, or redistribute files in any format
• Print for resale or commercial display
• Use for business, branding, or promotional purposes
• Modify or extract elements for reuse

Prints

All prints are sold for personal display only.

You may NOT:

• Reproduce or scan prints
• Digitise or convert into other formats
• Use prints in commercial environments (e.g. branding, hospitality décor for commercial gain without licence)
• Sell reproductions or copies

Originals

Purchase of an original artwork transfers ownership of the physical object only.

Alexa Craig Art retains:

• Full copyright
• All reproduction rights
• The right to photograph, reproduce, exhibit, and publish the work
• The right to use images for portfolio, marketing, prints, exhibitions, and promotion

Commissions

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise:

• Copyright remains with Alexa Craig Art
• Commissioned work is for personal use only
• Commercial licensing must be agreed in advance

Any commercial use without written permission is a breach of copyright.

Online Sharing

You may share images of purchased artwork for personal enjoyment provided:

• The artwork is credited as: Alexa Craig Art
• Images are not altered, cropped misleadingly, or edited into new works
• Content is not used to promote a business, product, or service

Commercial Licensing

Commercial use of any artwork must be licensed separately and in writing.

This includes (but is not limited to):

• Branding and logos
• Merchandise or product design
• Editorial or advertising use
• Packaging or commercial print use

All licensing enquiries must be agreed prior to use.

Enforcement & Legal Protection

Alexa Craig Art actively protects its intellectual property.

Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution may result in:

• Immediate removal requests
• Formal takedown notices (including DMCA-equivalent processes where applicable)
• Legal action under UK copyright law
• Claims for damages and licensing fees
